Kansas City Lodge #220 Brother Archie Fletcher's Mother Lodge Lodge Airdrie St. John No. 166 on the Roll of the Grand Lodge Of Scotland and its Charter Dates from 1789. The current Lodge Building is only about 30 years old but the Lodge Room is an exact replica of the old Lodge Room in the previous turn of the century building which was reminiscent of our own Kansas City Masonic Temple on Harrison Street. Note the checker board carpet with the tessellated border and the lodge crest woven in the center. The photo is facing east and, as you can see the master and his senior office bearers sit behind the "wall". |

The couple in formal Morning Dress are Brother Archie Fletcher's Mother and Father, Archie & Cathie Fletcher. The picture was taken at his Installation Ball circa Xmas 1951. Incidentally his Father was the 166th Master of the Lodge. The small medal he is wearing is an Honorary Membership medal from Lodge Edinburgh St Andrew No 48. Brother Archie still has these in his possession. For normal Lodge wear morning dress is worn: black jacket, gray waistcoat and tie, gray and black pinstripe trousers and a white shirt. |

The apron is worn inside the coat with the jewel of office around the neck suspended by a blue ribbon. Cuffs are worn with the lodge No. and the insignia of office embroidered in gold. A blue sash trimmed in gold with the lodge No. in the center is also worn. The insignia is the same for all office bearers with the exception that only the Master and his Warden wear cuffs. |

A strange outcrop/rock pattern on one of the hills on the edge of Edinburgh…I think it was Arthur’s Seat or one of the hills very near it. |
